Celebrating 50 years of human space flight is the theme for World Space Week 2011, which will take place from October 4 – 10

Since World Space Week began in 1999 events have been held in over 50 nations each year to celebrate the contributions of space to the betterment of the human condition.

At BCO we’re going to celebrate in style with rocket launches, NASA astronauts and much more!

Oct 5: Meet NASA astronaut Shane Kimbrough at the Triskel Christchurch

Oct7: First Fridays at the Castle open night til late, Cork Science Café and International Observe the Moon Night

Fancy running your own World Space Week event?

As national coordinators for World Space Week activities in Ireland we would like to extend an invitation to you to participate in this year’s activities by running your own event. All you have to do to participate is get in touch with us at the Castle and we’ll help you to promote & plan a space related event to take place between October 4-10.
