Dark Sky Week

For Dark Sky Week 2023 we’re offering a select group of teachers the chance to engage with CliC-PoLiT – An Erasmus+ funded project investigating the relationship between Climate Change and Light Pollution. Participants will be offered a free online classroom session during Dark Sky Week 2023. These sessions will last 40 minutes and give your students the chance to explore the concepts of light pollution and climate change with the support of Blackrock Castle Observatory’s Education Officer.

Following the session teachers are invited to explore 2-3 resources over the course of 1 year and to offer feedback on how these resources worked with your classes. The first resource is available here. Your input will shape future iterations of the resources. You will be offered 2-3 support calls over the course of the year should you wish to avail of them.

Participation is totally free and there will be opportunities for further development such as a summer school in Portugal during the first week of September.

To register your interest in CliC-PoLit simply fill out the form at the following link: Register

Our Education Officer will contact you to arrange a session at a time that suits you.
