Exploring the Equinox – Culture Night 2022

The Equinox has cultural significance throughout the world and not just as a signifier of change. It has been used to inform architecture, stories and more. But what is an equinox? In a talk to be hosted at MTU Blackrock Castle Observatory, we’ll have an expert on hand to discuss the cultural significance of the equinox as well as explaining the astronomical phenomenon behind it.

In addition to the talk we will be joined by our friends from Cork Astronomy Club for a courtyard astronomy session*, and families can avail of a fun linoleum printing session that will produce your very own print of the Moon to take home!

*Please note that the astronomy session is subject to suitable weather conditions and may not proceed in the event of inclement weather.
