Engaging Space Across a STEM Year
This course will help teachers to embrace the four national STEM weeks (Science, Maths, Engineers and Space Week) with teaching approaches that develop numeracy and literacy skills in an integrated way across the curriculum for senior classes. This course will use Space as the overarching theme to approach STEM weeks in an academic year. With an emphasis on inquiry-based learning, this course will outline a strong program of activities which provide opportunities to apply skills and knowledge to real life situations scaffolded by STEM Weeks as a motivator.

ESERO Ireland/DPSM Summer Course, “Junior Rocket Scientists: Space Science as a Cross-Curricular Theme”
This will be offered again in 2019 at CIT Blackrock Castle Observatory (Due to unforeseen circumstances, the course at Dunsink Observatory has been cancelled)
This course will assist participants in using teaching approaches that develop numeracy skills in an integrated way across the curriculum for junior classes (from infants to second class). This course will use space as a cross-curricular theme and develop skills in many curricular areas. The course will have an emphasis on inquiry-based learning. School Self Evaluation aims will be covered with an emphasis on evaluating and developing Science Skills.
