The European Space Education Office (ESERO) Ireland and Discover Primary Science & Maths are offering places for teachers on a 5-day professional development course at CIT Blackrock Castle Observatory from July 2 to 6, 2018: Junior Rocket Scientists: Space Science as a Cross-Curricular Theme.
The objective of the course is to assist participants in using teaching approaches that develop numeracy skills in an integrated way across the curriculum for junior classes (from infants to second class). This course will use space as a cross-curricular theme and develop skills in many curricular areas.
The course will have an emphasis on inquiry based learning and provide opportunities to apply skills and knowledge to real life situations. School Self Evaluation aims will be covered with an emphasis on evaluating and developing Science Skills.
This face-to-face course was developed in 2014 and was last offered in Cork in 2016.
