UFO footage recently released by the Pentagon has taken the internet by storm. But is there anything to it…?
Are we being visited by little green men?
Is interstellar travel even possible?
In the words of Fox Mulder “…Are they really a hoax? Are we truly alone? Or are we being lied to?”
BCO and Cork Skeptics have assembled a multidisciplinary panel to probe (See what we did there?) these questions and to unearth a conspiracy that goes all the way to the top*!!!
Whatever we find, be it an alien conspiracy or shaky camcorder footage of a weather balloon, we’re positive the search for answers is gonna be a lot of fun.
We hope you’ll join us on May 7th from 5 pm, and don’t forget to GET INVOLVED. We’ll take your questions/comments on the Livestream, or get in touch ahead of time on Twitter and Facebook using #UFOChat
*Or doesn’t. You’ll have to tune in to find out.
Our Team of UFO Hunters:
Danielle Wilcox – Science Communicator
Danielle has a rich, multidisciplinary background that lends itself well to this challenge. She’s part of the team that run the giant telescope at CIT Blackrock Castle Observatory and has a wealth of knowledge on all things space. In a former life she worked in aviation and has heard all kinds of stories from pilots about what they’ve seen “up there”.
Colm Ryan – Founder of Cork Skeptics
Colm is the founder of Cork Skeptics. Colm’s expertise will help the team to address the cultural problems with this issue: why people in history didn’t think about in UFOs, what’s going in people’s heads and the tendency towards conspiracy theories
Alan Giltinan – Senior Researcher at CIT Blackrock Castle Observatory
Alan has spent over a decade working in the field of astronomy. He has spent more time than most using The Observatory’s powerful telescope to scan the heavens. If The Truth is out there, there is no one better equipped to find it than Alan Giltinan.
Rob O’ Sullivan – Former Alien Researcher
Rob’s background in studying aliens will prove invaluable to this challenge. If there’s life out there, he’ll have a handle on what it’s probably going to look like, and not just because he’s watched too much Star Trek.
