100 Hours Under One Sky is a project led by the International Astronomical Union (IAU)’s Office for Astronomy Outreach UK National Outreach Coordinator team. That’s Jenny and Gemma. James who recently left the team also deserves a shout out for his work on this project.

We wanted to do something new and different to promote the IAU’s 100 Hours of Astronomy event, to bring people together. We wanted to do something for people who wouldn’t normally go to an astronomy event, but might be interested to take part from home.

This project is possible because we have some amazing project partners and funders:

Neill from Go Stargazing brings technical expertise. His mission of helping beginner stargazers find stargazing events and resources fits perfectly with our own aims.

The International Astronomical Union’s Office of Astronomy Outreach supported the project with a National Outreach Coordinator grant.

The Federation of Astronomical Societies provided funding for a 2024 TikTok campaign to help us reach new audiences.

The Royal Astronomical Society and British Astronomical Association have also provided support to the project.
