We are inviting local artists to submit their work for an up and coming exhibition called ‘Solar Eclipse’ to be presented at Blackrock Castle Observatory in our new gallery space.
This exhibition explores the phenomenon of the solar eclipse as both a scientific event and a powerful metaphor. A solar eclipse, when light from the sun is briefly obscured, has fascinated people throughout history and across cultures, symbolising transformation and alignment.
We are seeking artworks that engage with themes of shadow and illumination, cosmic observation, perception of celestial phenomena, and our relationship to the universe.
The exhibition will be situated within the new gallery space in BCO – a historic castle and contemporary centre for astronomy research and science communication.
We seek submissions that reflect on the intersection of art, science and celestial observation.
