Mars Science Laboratory: In Search of Origins

On Friday Nov 18 at 20:00, Kevil Nolan will present “Mars Science Laboratory: In Search of Origins” at CIT Blackrock Observatory. He will present iconic and 3-D images from the 8 spacecraft operating on and around the planet Mars; as well as presenting details of the imminent Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) “Curiosity” mission, due to launch to Mars on 25 November 2011.

Celebrating the theme “The Chemistry of Life” for Science Week Ireland 2011, Kevin will explore:

– The search for the origin and cosmic abundance of life

– The search for life on Mars

– How Mars exploration connects the questions of the origin and cosmic abundance of life

– What the Mars Science Laboratory “Curiosity” will tell us about the search for Origins

The presentation is open to all on a first come first served basis.


Science Juice!

On Saturday Nov 19 at 15:00, Kevin Nolan will host “Science Juice”: a youth extension of the Cork Science Café which sees scientists present outside of the academic environment, sharing the power of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) with teenagers.

Come to the upper Food Court at Mahon Point, Cork to see Kevin’s amazing 3D show: “Mars Science Lab – In Search of Origins”. Suitable for ages 13-18 and enjoy free juice from the Bagel Bar!
